Clear aligners are a popular alternative to traditional braces and are designed to help guide teeth into their proper position. Similar to the treatment process for braces, clear aligners use gradual force to control tooth movement, but without the use of metal wires or brackets. Teeth aligners are made of a strong plastic material and are fabricated to fit formley against the wearer’s teeth. This treatment type is unique as it uses sets of aligners to gradually move the teeth in increments until the desired position is achieved.

Braces vs Clear Aligners

Patients looking to straighten teeth or improve the feel of their smile have an important choice to make: traditional braces or Invisalign®. Though both can help you get the smile you deserve, clear align technology offers a few unique benefits that braces do not. Metal braces are highly functional, however, a common complaint is their lack of comfort and aesthetic appeal. Luckily, Red Rock Orthodontics, patients have many treatment plan options including Invisalign clear aligners — which are virtually invisible!

While clear aligners are made of plastic, they can still correct many of the same dental issues as metal braces by addressing things like issues with the jaw or tooth position. In fact, clear aligners are a great solution for many patients seeking to guide misaligned teeth into the proper positions. Unlike regular orthodontic appliances which often require metal, aligners are less likely to irritate your gums or cheek. As an added benefit, Invisalign clear aligners are removable so it is easier for you to not only enjoy your favorite meals but also brush and floss afterwards! Interested in learning more? Am I a Candidate for Invisalign?

To get started with Invisalign, you will first need to schedule a consultation with our team. During your visit we will use the iTero Element® scanner to take fast, precise digital scans of your teeth. After assessing your smile needs, we will help you understand whether or not you qualify for invisalign treatment. If you are a candidate, we will provide you with a custom plan documenting your treatment time. Once you’re ready to begin treatment with your new aligners, we will get you set up with your first set of trays. You’ll wear each set of clear aligners day and night for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss.

With Invisalign, you won’t be waiting several years to see improvement in your smile. In fact, you’ll start to notice a difference after just a few months and most treatments are completed within one year! This makes clear aligners an excellent alternative to braces for adults and teens.

If your oral health requires more attention and work, this could increase the overall treatment cost. As with other orthodontic options, treatment times vary and the cost is based on the complexity of your case as well as the time spent undergoing treatment. We want to make sure that the financial aspect of our care is comfortable for you, so we offer a variety of payment options to suit your individual needs.
